Every week I couldn't wait for the weekends to come since I always go to visit my Aunt Maggie at her country home and spend some time with her, She has the same interest as me so we always ended up chatting about usual stuffs such as our view on religion, gardening skills and experiences, the art of Feng Shui and many other topics. When she is busy attending to her garden, I would just watch her at work and admire how beautiful and tidily kept her garden was. When she feels tired she would just sit and rest at the patio, where she kept a beautiful set furniture made out of teak wood.

Her collection of teak furniture for her patio consists of one big rectangular shaped teak table and also six chairs made out of, what else, teak wood. At the corner there is a small magazine rack and one small table where she keeps her special decorations which consist of a wonderfully colored water bowl where she further decorates with floating candles and beautiful flowers. The whole set of furniture are all designed wonderfully with flower designs and it seemed perfect to me. No wonder Aunt Maggie and her family always have their breakfast here. If I happen to be there at her house during teatime, she would invite me to drink her green tea together with her, while eating the wonderfully made pastries done by her daughter.

I mentioned to her how her chosen collection of teak furniture seems to have plain simple designs, and yet they do not lack that artistic touch. She just smiled after hearing my appreciation.

Many of the teak shops around town offered outdoors collections at reasonable prices. Best time to buy is just before the festive seasons; they have major sales going on, aunt Maggie recommended. But I ordered this patio furniture directly from the internet store. Its cheaper that buying at the local shop.

"I would love to have my own set of teak furniture too, but too bad Mum doesn't like the smell of the teak wood. She says that it smells bad and its not good for health, although I don't know where she gets that idea though. I cannot imagine what she will say if I really got myself a collection", I told her while we both laugh at the image of mum finding out I got myself a set of teak fittings. My mind turns back to the time I went into town and saw some beautiful and extravagant set of teak wood sets. The prices were reasonable also. There were outdoor furniture, beach chair, small delicate tables, and small ornament pieces made from teak wood.

" I like different types of design on my teak furniture actually," She said, adding in that she likes designs that are classical and looks ancient, modern designs and also different contemporary designs. They are my favorite because they look attractive, do the job and they last longer than other furniture," I nod my head to show I agree with her. Besides the collection of teak fittings on her patio, she also bought her garden benches online, even from the same website. The benches shows her taste, simple yet elegant designs.

"Not to mention they are easier to clean and take care of also," She added.

The outdoor or exterior part of the house can be decorated with teak patio sets for the outdoors if chosen carefully. By using the right combination, it is possible to make use of the free outdoor space to beautify the outdoor part of the house and also the garden. Behind Aunt Maggie's house, she also has six teak wood chairs beside her swimming pool. In between the chairs there are small tables for convenience if the guests want to put anything on it. To provide protection from the sunlight, Aunt Maggie has put several big umbrellas for people to use. The chairs complete the swimming pool since it would be weird if there are no chairs to rest in besides swimming pools.

As I said, Aunt Maggie has some teak outdoor furniture placed inside her garden. These benches add to the overall beauty of the garden and make it more inviting for guests. Each piece of her fittings is special in their designs and makes her home look even better and more confortable.

Curiously, I asked her if she had used her knowledge of Feng Shui to place her pieces, since she seems to know a lot about the art. She acknowledge that she does use it when thinking how to decorate the inside and outside of her home. She makes use of her knowledge as much as she can so that her home can have a calm and balanced ambience to it. She generally believes that by doing so she can increase the luck of her family. But, she is careful to not use too much of it since it might create a negative effect instead.

Setting the certain piece of fixtures in a right way can bring good "karma" and then bring good luck to the people living in the house, Aunt Maggie told me. She had attended classes and studied the art of Feng Shui before thus she is using the knowledge to help her family have more luck.

Most people would choose teak furniture for their elegance and durability. It is a matter of personal preference. Other than that, teak furniture is known for their comfort, functionality and pleasing look.
