This review seems idiotic to me. You make it sound as if it's ok to charge more if the difference is comfort. I want to know why we have to choose. Can't a $50 chair be functional and last? Shouldn't we be charged more for features and materials but not basic function? Almost all chairs today are crap. They use the arm rests to support the back. This ALWAYS results in a break in the arms. I have used plastic lawn furniture that worked just fine and cost $4. They are, if nothing else, functional. A computer chair at any cost should function. Higher prices should be for better materials, features...NOT functionality. Truth be told, the companies set the market by selling nothing but junk at the $300 and below range and then offering metal frames on chairs above $300. It absolutely is not fair. Asking yourself if trading painless working hours for a slightly lighter wallet, falls right into their trap. We should demand more from companies and their products. This might not be a problem if the USA would get off their butts and produce something.

We know someone who is a physical therapist who has a different kind of chair design for sitting with correct posture. It's a simple looking chair with back and leg adjustments that will adjust to anyone's height and has rave testimonials from the NYC Ballet orchestra members. It's also perfectly suitable for daily use in the office. h**p://www.alcatchair.com

<strong>Buying Office Chairs...</strong>

If you happen to be looking for office chairs, you can even look on auction sites such as Ebay, or local trading newspapers as well. Office chairs are popular these days, with some being more well known than others. New chairs are coming out all the time, so take your time and don't buy one just because "it was just $3,46 on ebay"! Remember, you probably will use the chair <em>a lot</em> and choosing a quality chair goes a long way...

Indeed, nothing can be compared with the loss of your health. If ergonomic office chairs are meant to maintain it for you, then don't economize by sacrificing your health.

Jonathan, if you're "forced" to sit on a chair all day long (like most of us are) you better make sure it's a quality chair and not some $50 "mass produced" crap. If you work in an office, consider your office chair a tool. There's a reason most professionals use pro tools to get their job done and not some cheapo crap imported from china or elsewhere.

The problem with the lower priced chairs is their durability over time. If you can manage, it's definitely worth the money. But, their are tons of options out there. You can always go with a task chair for under $100. Check out CSNChairs.com. They have a really good selection. Good luck!

OK but where are reviews to normal-priced chairs? $50 good office chairs. Every review here is for chairs of price higher than $300. That's absurd, nobody who cares about spending is going to buy overpriced mass-produced furniture.
